"Mother Dear" is my Mother, Susie Barrow Morgan (1912-1999). Wife of Earnest Morgan, Sr. and Mother of 11 children, 5 boys and 6 girls. In early years they made a living share cropping on Cedars Lane in St. Francisville. They  loved their family and  loved people in general. 

"Papa" Earnest Morgan, Se. was a Deacon in Historic Afton Villa B.C in St. Francisville, La.  He loved singing, praying, and practicing writing in cursive. While most of his life was spent farming on a sharecropper's farm, he also worked construction jobs. 

Mother Dear  loved being in the kitchen, especially when she was baking teacakes.  I watched her as a little girl mix, roll out, cut and bake her teacakes. Of course, I had to sample the dough while she was baking.  What sweet memories I have that can never be taken away. She also worked for years in Food Service in West Feliciana School System. 

Mother Dear loved reading, studying and speaking the Word of God as a Deaconess in the St. Peter Baptist Church in St. Francisville, La.

Enjoy the love that Mother Dear shared when she baked her teacakes.  There is love in every bite!
